Iceland
Gullfoss means translated " Gollden Falls" and is one of Iceland's most beautiful and most popular waterfall. Gullfoss is in the River Hvlta (White River).
Which has its origin in the glacier lake, Hvitavatn. About a kilometer above the falls it turns sharply to the right and flows down into a wide curved three-step "staircase" and than abruptly plunges in two stages ( 11 meter and 21 meter) into a crevice 32 meter deep. The average amount of water running over this waterfall is 140 m3/s in the summertime and 80 m3/s in the wintertime. The highest flood measured was 2000 m3/s.
